The Pioneer Collection is simply high quality hardwood flooring that's specially graded to retain a generous balance of each wood's unique characteristics. A wide range of species provides enough flexibilty in color, grain, hardness, and style to compliment virtually any décor. Longer than normal lengths keep these floors from looking "choppy". Whether you enjoy the rustic look of an old country store, or the sophistication of a Manhattan loft, the natural beauty of this collection is easy to fall in love with.

The Pioneer Collection is sold unfinished (sand & finish on site) in random widths of 3, 4, 5 and 6 inches. Presanding and other options are available. Flooring is solid, tongue and groove, 3/4" thick, endmatched and comes in lengths from 18" to 144".

Pioneer Wormy Maple

Wormy Maple is truely a one of a kind exotic hardwood floor! The tree's natural reaction to the ambrosia beetle displays unique wormhole characteristics that resemble the stripes of tiger. No accents or distressing is necessary with gorgeous marvel. The wormy maple's 100% created-by-nature look stands alone only to be set apart.

Floors shown here were finished on site with tung oil. Over time they amber and become richer in detail. Heartwood shows hues of brown and green while the sapwood will be white.

Wormy Maple is 26% softer then Red Oak and more stable then Red Oak.

Pioneer Walnut

Black Walnut's rich warm hues of brown to sapwood that is a creamy white will make a statement in any home. Burled or curly grained boards are found along with straight grained boards. Walnut flooring can vary in color with different finishes, all of which will become darker and more beautiful with time.

Black Walnut is 22% softer then Red Oak and 9% more stable then Red Oak.

Pioneer White Oak

White Oak has been a choice building wood since colonial times, especially for floors. Its tighter grain and rustic character traits make it perfect for older home renovations or projects that are simply looking for natural elegance. The heartwood ranges from light to dark brown while the sapwood is a creamy white color. White Oak is 5% harder then Red Oak and 1% more stable then Red Oak.

Pioneer American Cherry

North American Cherry has long fascinated woodworkers with its beautiful silky texture and close, smooth grain. When first installed as flooring it shows pastel shades of pink and amber which, with time, turn to rich auburn shades. Heartwood is light to dark reddish brown while sapwood is light brown to a light pinkish tone. American Cherry 26% softer then Red Oak and 17% more stable then Red Oak.

Pioneer Hickory

Hickory floors are the heaviest and hardest out of the North American hardwoods. A high level of contrast, between the shades of brown in the heartwood and the creamy white sapwood, is what makes a hickory floor so unique and beautiful. Hickory is 41% harder then Red Oak and 3% less stable then Red Oak.
